I am constantly preoccupied with the question of gender, and the shifting terrains between selfhood and social identity.

Sharmistha Ray is a visual artist & TED Fellow. The recipient of notable awards including a Montblanc Young Artist World Patronage (2012), Ray has worked on art projects with global institutions and corporates like Berklee College of Music, The Godrej Group, JSW and Mahindra & Mahindra. She is an occasional art writer and founder of Bellevue Brunches & Salons, a mobile cross-cultural salon that aims to augment participatory modes of engagement with contemporary art in surprising new ways. Ray splits her time between Mumbai and New York.
